Job summary

Gray Construction is seeking an experienced Site Manager to join their Field Operations team in Portland, OR. The role focuses on owning all field activities from startup to closeout, including safety, quality, and schedule, while coordinating subcontractors and maintaining strong client relations.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of construction leadership experience, with the ability to read drawings, manage budgets, and mentor crew members.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years related construction experience.
• Experience leading on-site field activities with design, project and schedule management.
• Experience on large projects in manufacturing, food & beverage, distribution and mission critical.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural/engineering drawings, financial reports, and contracts.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of all field activities from start-up to project completion, including safety, quality, schedule, planning, logistics, and on-site leadership.
• Maintain and track overall project schedule; develop 2–3 week lookahead and use it to manage deliverables.
• Provide real-time data to PM/Scheduler for schedule updates.
• Ensure site safety requirements are met; assist on-site safety personnel when needed; address violations with subcontractors.
• Lead training on Gray software (CMO, Navisworks, Bluebeam, Concur, E-Time, GoGray).
• Conduct site and weekly meetings to coordinate subcontractor activities and align with schedule.
