Job summary

Canadian Pacific Kansas City is seeking a Manager of Signals and Communications to lead a team ensuring the reliable operation of S&C systems, supervise Radio Shop personnel, and manage yard control networks for efficient train and equipment movement.

The role involves testing, commissioning upgrades, and gathering data for affidavits, while promoting safety, compliance, and continuous improvement across field operations.

Qualifications

• Requires leadership and safety leadership experience in a field setting.
• Proven ability to plan, prioritize and execute in a safe environment.
• Knowledge of S&C equipment, signal principles and regulatory requirements.
• Strong computer skills incl. Excel, PowerPoint, Word and SAP.

Responsibilities

• Directs safety leadership and cultivates continuous improvement in workplace safety.
• Analyzes signal failures to prevent recurrence and improve reliability.
• Ensures S&C systems meet safety standards and approves new or modified systems entry into service.
• Maintains records of S&C equipment, installations and testing.
• Coordinates with maintenance and construction to maximize productivity.
• Coaches junior S&C employees on technical aspects of their job.
• Distributes S&C alerts and updates field actions taken.
• Uses collective bargaining agreement for effective work management.
