Job summary

Watts is seeking a Lead Shipper in Franklin, NH to coordinate daily shipping operations and ensure on-time, accurate customer shipments.

You will lead the shipping team, manage documentation in SAP, and collaborate with Production, Materials, and Customer Service to meet business goals. On-site role with safety and process compliance.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years of shipping, warehouse, logistics, or materials experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Previous lead, coordinator, or team leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
  • Knowledge of shipping documentation, carrier requirements, and transportation processes.
  • Experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment preferred; certification is a plus.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, regulations, policies, and safety practices.
  • Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate daily shipping activities to ensure on-time and accurate customer shipments.
  • Assign and prioritize workload within the shipping area to meet daily production and customer requirements.
  • Verify shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing slips, carrier paperwork, and export documents as required.
  • Ensure all shipments are properly packaged, labeled, and prepared in accordance with customer and carrier specifications.
  • Perform system transactions in SAP (or other ERP systems) related to shipping, inventory movements, and order fulfillment.
  • Coordinate with carriers and transportation providers to schedule pickups and resolve shipment issues.
  • Monitor shipping schedules and communicate delays, shortages, or transportation concerns to appropriate departments.
  • Train, mentor, and provide day-to-day guidance to shipping personnel on processes, procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Assist with inventory accuracy through cycle counts, material verification, and investigation of inventory discrepancies.
  • Maintain organized shipping records and documentation in accordance with company procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts within shipping and warehouse operations.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks, as authorized and required.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Scope of Position

The Lead Shipper is responsible for coordinating daily shipping operations to ensure the accurate, timely, and efficient movement of finished goods and materials. This role serves as the primary point of contact for the shipping function, providing guidance and support to shipping team members while maintaining compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and safety standards. The Lead Shipper performs shipping activities, manages documentation and system transactions, and works closely with Production, Materials, Customer Service, and Warehouse personnel to meet business objectives. This position reports to the Materials Supervisor, is onsite, and is based in Franklin, NH.

Working Conditions

While performing the job duties, you will be working on-site in a manufacturing facility. You will be required to work at the Company’s location in Franklin, NH. Your scheduled work hours will be communicated to you by your manager.
