Job summary

Watts Water Technologies is seeking a Distribution Center Lead to coordinate daily warehouse operations, prioritize work with the Supervisor, and guide the team to meet safety, quality, and schedule requirements.

You will monitor inventory, truck arrivals, and order flow while coaching staff to improve efficiency and accuracy in a dynamic distribution center environment.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory handling within the assigned area.
  • Ability to operate or learn warehouse equipment safely and effectively.
  • Experience with warehouse systems, RF scanners, ERP/WMS platforms such as SAP.
  • Prior warehouse, distribution, or logistics experience; lead or trainer experience preferred.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic including rates and percentages.
  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving and follow-up skills.

  • Review work schedules and department status with the Supervisor to support daily priorities.
  • Coordinate work assignments and provide directions to employees under Supervisor guidance.
  • Coordinate truck arrivals, dock assignments, and daily inventory counts.
  • Monitor product movement and staging to ensure proper identification and organization.
  • Assist with training and development of team members and problem solving.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work area and report issues to the Supervisor.

The Distribution Center Lead supports daily warehouse operations by coordinating workflow, assisting team members, and ensuring assigned department activities are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule. This role works closely with the Supervisor to prioritize work, communicate operational needs, support training and problem solving, maintain quality and inventory standards, and help drive department efficiency overall. The DC Lead serves as a working lead and point of contact for employees while helping ensure compliance with company policies, safety expectations, and standard operating procedures.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform job duties in accordance with department operating instructions, company policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Review work schedules and department status with the Supervisor to support daily operational priorities.
  • Coordinate work assignments and provide directions to employees under Supervisor guidance.
  • Coordinate truck arrivals, dock assignments, and daily inventory counts.
  • Monitor product movement and staging to ensure materials are properly identified, organized, and kept separate as required.
  • Assist with work assignments or reassignments to support efficient use of labor, equipment, and order flow.
  • Support employees by answering questions, solving problems, reviewing quality, and assisting with training.
  • Keep the Supervisor informed of shipping status, operational issues, safety concerns, and other problems as they occur.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication and problem solving within the warehouse environment.
  • Report equipment issues or malfunctions to the Supervisor and Maintenance personnel.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Coordinate multiple tasks and respond quickly to operational issues.
  • Assist the Supervisor with adjusting work procedures to meet shipping schedules and department priorities.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems or assist employees in resolving work-related issues.
  • Support efficient department operations in the absence of the Supervisor, within assigned authority.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations, product flow, inventory handling, and procedures within the assigned area.
  • Ability to operate or learn specified warehouse equipment safely and effectively.
  • Ability to identify products, parts, labels, packaging requirements, and quality standards.
  • Ability to complete required operational records accurately and on time.
  • Ability to use warehouse systems, RF scanners, or similar technology as required by the assigned area.
  • Prior warehouse, distribution, logistics, or related experience required; lead, trainer, or informal leadership experience preferred.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to work safely, support team members, and model company expectations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Leadership Experience: Previous lead, trainer, coordinator, or informal leadership experience in a warehouse, distribution, or logistics environment.
  • Shipping Operations: Prior experience with shipping, dock operations, staging, small parcel, LTL, or outbound order flow.
  • Warehouse Systems: Experience using warehouse systems, RF scanners, ERP/WMS platforms, SAP, or similar technology.
  • Training and Coaching: Experience training, coaching, or supporting team members on standard work, safety expectations, quality, and productivity requirements.
