Job summary

National Steel and Shipbuilding Com in San Diego is seeking a Test & Trials Supervisor to perform and coordinate test operations, prepare test procedures, and maintain schedules while interfacing with regulatory bodies and customers.

You will supervise a test crew, work hands-on with shipboard systems, and coordinate with production, QA, and subcontractors. A Marine Field degree and relevant shipboard experience are required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Marine Field and 3+ years operating shipboard machinery.
• Experience with Marine Mechanical/Electrical Systems, Centralized Controls, deck/cargo handling, ballast, QA and personnel management.

Responsibilities

• Test procedure preparation, conduct and reporting.
• Test coordination between production, test, QA, customer and regulators.
• Plan and instruct pre-test activities; supervise test crew.
• LMS reporting and hands-on operation of systems.
• Coordinate with subcontractors/repair facilities and assign work.
• Ensure compliance with Navy ship acceptance and ABS/Coast Guard rules.
