Job summary

General Dynamics NASSCO in San Diego is seeking a Test & Trials Supervisor to lead shipboard test operations, prepare procedures and maintain schedules. You will coordinate with Outfitting Production, QA, and regulatory bodies while supervising a multidisciplinary test crew.

The role requires hands-on operation of shipboard systems, collaboration with customer representatives and compliance with Navy and ABS standards. Strong leadership and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Marine Field or equivalent training with 3+ years’ experience operating shipboard machinery.
• Experience with marine mechanical/electrical systems, centralized controls, deck and cargo handling equipment.
• Familiar with ABS/Coast Guard requirements and Navy ship acceptance tests.

Responsibilities

• Test procedure preparation, conduct and reporting.
• Test coordination between Production, Test, QA, Customer, and Regulatory Bodies.
• Test planning and pre-test instructions.
• LMS reporting and documentation.
• Supervise, train and lead test crew personnel.
• Operate systems and equipment hands-on in test environments.
• Coordinate test activities with subcontractors/repair facilities.
• Assign work and manage day-to-day test progress.
