Job summary

General Dynamics NASSCO seeks a Test & Trials professional to perform and coordinate test operations on ships, preparing documentation and scheduling aligned with production activities. You will liaise with Navy, ABS and Coast Guard representatives while supervising test crews and ensuring QA compliance.

The role involves hands-on operation, writing procedures, coordinating across departments, and ensuring timely testing as part of the ship repair and build process.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Marine Field or equivalent training.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience operating shipboard machinery.
• Proven experience with Marine Mechanical and Electrical Systems, Centralized Controls, Deck Machinery, Cargo Handling, Ballast Systems, and Quality Assurance.

Responsibilities

• Test Procedure preparation, conduct and reporting.
• Test Coordination.
• Test Planning and pre-test instructions.
• LMS Reporting.
• Supervise and train test crew personnel.
• Hands-on operation of systems and equipment.
• Coordinate test conduct between Production, Test, QA, Customer, and Regulatory Bodies.
• Assign work and manage subcontractors/repair facilities.
• Perform other tasks as required by the Test Manager.
