Job summary

General Dynamics NASSCO is seeking a Test and Trials professional in San Diego to perform and oversee test activities, prepare procedures, maintain schedules and ensure accurate documentation. You will coordinate with production, QA, customers, and regulators, supervise test crews, and perform hands-on testing of shipboard systems.

Qualifications include an Associate degree in Marine Field and 3+ years’ experience with shipboard machinery, with knowledge of ABS/Coast Guard requirements and Navy

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Marine Field (or equivalent training) and a minimum of ~3 years’ experience operating shipboard machinery.
• Proven experience with Marine Mechanical and Electrical Systems, Centralized Controls, Deck Machinery, and Cargo Handling Systems.

Responsibilities

• Test Procedure preparation, conduct and reporting.
• Test Coordination and Test Planning with pre-test instructions.
• LMS Reporting and supervising training of test crew personnel.
• Hands-on operation of systems and equipment; act as Working Test Supervisor when needed.
• Coordinate test conduct between Production, Test, QA, Customer, and Regulatory Bodies.
• Assign work and manage subcontractors/repair facility activities.
• Other tasks as required by the Test Manager and related to regulatory compliance.
