Job summary

U.S. Pacific Fleet seeks a skilled supervisor to lead a division, plan workload, coordinate scheduling, and direct subordinate staff aboard ships.

You will determine materials and equipment needs and arrange requisition and services from other shops. You will supervise installation, troubleshooting, modification and repair of mechanical systems, inspect progress for quality, safety and efficiency, resolve delays, enforce safety programs, and train subordinates in work methods and proper use of

Qualifications

• Screen-out Element: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE.
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

Responsibilities

• You will plan the division of workload among subordinate employees.
• You will coordinate activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities and directing the work of subordinate employees.
• You will determine what materials and equipment will be needed and arrange for their requisition and required services from other shops.
• You will supervise work that includes installation, troubleshooting, modifying and repair on various mechanical systems and components.
• You will inspect work in progress and upon completion to ensure quality control, efficiency and safety operations.
• You will resolve working problems and take necessary corrective action to overcome delays.
• You will enforce command safety and programs and advise on the use of safety equipment.
• You will be responsible for training of subordinates in work methods, procedures and the proper use of tolls and equipment.
