Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services in Hamden, CT is seeking a Shift Supervisor to direct associates during a shift and ensure policy is followed while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The role includes scheduling, training, performance evaluation, and serving as the point of contact for employee requests and time off. It offers full‑time and part‑time hourly positions with varying day and evening shifts, and one weekend day per week. Compensation is $20.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Direct the activities of associates during a shift and ensure policy and procedure adherence.
• Provide training and create work schedules for the team.
• Evaluate performance and address disciplinary needs as required.
• Prepare reports on production, quality, productivity and safety.
• Act as the contact person for employee complaints or time-off requests.

Responsibilities

• Provide training and create work schedules.
• Evaluate the performance of workers, reward high performers and discipline employees who fail to meet reasonable standards of work performance.
• Prepare production or sales reports for management and ensure the unit meets expectations for quality, productivity and safety.
• Act as the contact person for employees with complaints or requests for time off.
• Mentor and develop employees, encouraging them to set goals and pursue advancement within the organization.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
