Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles is seeking a Lead Monitor II to supervise and mentor monitors, ensuring safety for clients, visitors and staff in a shelter setting with 100+ clients. Driving tasks are included if licensed, with emphasis on security, incident reporting, and program asset protection.

The role requires fingerprint clearance, a year of relevant education or certification, and prior experience in mental health or residential services.

Qualifications

• Fingerprint clearance and background check are required.
• One year of college coursework, or C4C certificate, is required.
• One year of related experience in mental health or group residential settings is preferred.
• Current California driver’s license and clean driving record preferred.

Responsibilities

• Arrange and supervise monitor shifts to maintain 24/7 coverage.
• Train monitors in safety, security, and program operations.
• Monitor shelter safety and asset protection, ensuring policy compliance.
• Assist participants and staff, provide driving tasks if licensed.
• Maintain records and report incidents to supervisors.
