Job summary

King County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a Lead Security Screener to supervise security screening teams across King County locations. You will report to the Sergeant and may perform duties of a Security Screener as needed.

As lead, you will schedule, train, and monitor Screeners, ensuring adherence to standards, gathering post and magnetometer data, and handling post assignments with a focus on security and compliance in a Civil Service environment.

Qualifications

• Security Screener in the KCSO experience is expected.
• Demonstrated leadership to Screeners.
• Excellent oral and written communications.
• Ability to build positive working relationships with staff and public.
• Experience with diverse people and cultures.
• Strong customer service, training and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with Office software (Excel/Word/Outlook).
• Ability to perform basic time keeping in software.
• Experience with problem solving and conflict resolution.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct assigned staff; prioritize daily work and assignments.
• Develop and maintain daily and monthly screener schedules.
• Review absences to meet scheduling needs.
• Gather and maintain statistics, logs and test records.
• Schedule and provide training and tests for new Screeners.
• Monitor Screeners at posts to ensure standards.
• Perform magnetometer tests regularly.
• Work post position when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
