Job summary

The Safety & Security Assistant Manager at Artis—Naples supports the leadership and day-to-day operations of the Safety & Security Department and serves as the first-line supervisor of Safety & Security Officers, ensuring a safe environment for patrons, artists, staff, artwork, facilities, and assets across Artis—Naples’ cultural campus.

The role provides operational leadership for daily activities, performances, exhibitions, and events, and assumes responsibility for departmental operations in

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; higher degrees preferred.
• Minimum five years of progressively responsible security or public safety experience.
• Experience with physical security technologies, including access control and video surveillance.
• Knowledge of emergency preparedness, incident response, and risk mitigation.
• Strong leadership, communication, and de-escalation skills.
• Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and events.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, direct, coach, and evaluate Safety & Security Officers.
• Coordinate security operations for performances, exhibitions, events, and daily activities.
• Assist with emergency preparedness, drills, and safety initiatives.
• Monitor electronic security systems and alarms.
• Investigate theft, threats, workplace violence, and policy violations.
• Review incident reports and ensure proper follow-up.
• Assist in training and staff development.
• Maintain relationships with law enforcement and public safety partners.
• Serve as a departmental representative on the Artis—Naples Safety Committee.
• Exercise sound judgment and protect confidential information.
