Job summary

GRAND CANYON UNIVERSITY is seeking a Lead Security and Low Voltage Technician to install and maintain head-end access control panels and a wide range of electrified door hardware. You will configure security systems, pull and test cables, and coordinate with project teams on site.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years’ work experience with access control and low voltage related work.
• Preferred experience in AV integration, access control technicians or commercial cabling firms.
• Experience with Lenel, Verkada, Axis, Allegion, Assa Abloy is preferred.
• Experience with troubleshooting and installing electrified door hardware.
• Experience with RS485, Wiegand and OSDP wiring.
• CompTIA A+ and Network+ certification is a bonus.
• Must have a current AZ driver’s license and clean driver record.
• Must successfully pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Install, wire, and trim out head-end access control panels with professional workmanship.
• Install and service electrified door hardware including panic devices, vertical rods, magnetic locks, transfer hinges, and auto operators.
• Configure, program and integrate security and access control systems.
• Install, repair, maintain, troubleshoot, and test various cable/equipment.
• Pull cables through walls, ceilings, and other structures; assist with site layout.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and internal teams on project completion.
• Move and position equipment on site and maintain accurate tickets and communications.
