Job summary
Exelon is seeking a Section Engineer to provide technical leadership in planning, design and execution of utility projects across electric and gas infrastructure. You will mentor junior engineers, lead cross-functional teams, and ensure safety, reliability and regulatory compliance across the section.
The role includes directing studies, budgeting, coordinating with external partners, and overseeing field activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering; 7+ years of professional experience.
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex electrical and mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of regulations, guides, standards, codes, and engineering practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead highly technical consultation and training on complex areas requiring advanced engineering principles.
- Direct multi-discipline project teams to develop studies and commissioning plans for energizing major utility systems.
- Perform assignments independently and may oversee contractors.
- Participate in department/project planning and monitor performance for results.
- Provide detailed technical training and mentorship to engineers.
- Engage with industry groups to stay current on technologies and act as an expert.
