Job summary

Exelon is seeking a Sr Engineer - Substation Engineer to lead studies, plans, and design documents for major substation projects including 138kV, 345kV and 765kV expansions and rebuilds. The role provides technical guidance, mentorship, and ensures compliance with industry standards while supporting storm coverage and energy delivery reliability.

Responsibilities include coordinating with planning, project management, and operations, and delivering high-level designs, budgets, and performance

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or PE license.
• Ability to analyze and interpret complex electrical and mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of standards, codes, methods and practices.
• Ability to apply advanced engineering principles to resolve issues.
• Leadership in industry committees or equivalent credentials.

Responsibilities

• Translate planning needs into engineering scopes, high level designs, and feasibility studies.
• Lead scope development for 138kV, 345kV and 765kV substations; define assumptions and strategies.
• Develop high level scope, one-line diagrams, and preliminary designs for new and expanded substations.
• Collaborate with planning, project management, and operations; act as technical liaison to stakeholders.
• Coordinate input from civil, structural and protection & control teams for integrated solutions.
• Complete design initiatives per procedures, codes, and budgets; stay current with standards.
