Job summary

Exelon is seeking a Sr Engineer - Substation Engineer to lead studies, criteria, calculations and design documents for transmission facilities. You will mentor others, train staff, and work extended hours during storms or emergencies.

The role emphasizes developing scopes for 138kV-765kV substations, coordinating with planning and operations, and delivering integrated, compliant designs on schedule and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Licensed Professional Engineer; extensive engineering knowledge.
• Ability to analyze and interpret complex electrical and mechanical systems.
• Advanced problem solving and engineering theory application.
• Experience with standards, codes, and practices in electrical/ mechanical engineering.
• PE license or advanced degree reduces required OJT experience per notes.

Responsibilities

• Translate planning needs into engineering scopes, designs and feasibility studies.
• Lead scope development for substations (138kV, 345kV, 765kV) and major equipment additions.
• Develop high level scope, diagrams, conceptual layouts and preliminary designs.
• Collaborate with planning, project management, and operations as technical liaison.
• Provide technical training and mentorship to others.
