Job summary

Precision Medicine Group in Houston is seeking a Principal Scientist to lead the design, validation, and troubleshooting of molecular assays including ddPCR, qPCR, Next Gen Sequencing, Nanostring, and FISH, with strict adherence to GLP, CAP/CLIA/ISO guidelines.

You will mentor junior scientists, craft experimental plans and timelines, communicate progress to clients, and generate technical reports while driving SOP development and staff training to ensure high-quality, timely results.

Qualifications

• PhD in life sciences or related field required.
• At least 8 years full-time laboratory experience.
• Hands-on sequencing, ddPCR and qPCR experience.
• Experience with CAP/CLIA/GLP or ISO guidelines.
• Strong organizational and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Designs, implements, and troubleshoots molecular assays to meet client requirements.
• Oversees SOPs to ensure regulatory compliance and quality.
• Generates technical reports and client communications.
• Trains and mentors scientific staff and supports client calls as the leading expert.
• Maintains safe lab practices and tracks laboratory efficiency.
