Job summary

Precision Medicine Group in Houston seeks a Technologist II (Molecular) to develop and perform assays for molecular biology projects, including assay development, validation, and execution under CLIA guidelines. You will work with scientists to ensure timely delivery.

The role requires hands-on experience with RNA/DNA extraction, qPCR and NGS platforms, training staff, maintaining SOPs, and strong documentation. Occasional long hours and weekend shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences or related field.
• 2+ years of related laboratory experience.
• CLIA/GLP/ISO knowledge desirable.
• Strong documentation and data scrutiny skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work long hours when needed.
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.

Responsibilities

• Perform molecular biology assays following SOPs.
• Develop and validate new procedures; improve SOPs.
• Train staff and ensure lab operates under CLIA/GLP/ISO standards.
• Run QC samples and clinical samples; generate data.
• Maintain reagents stock and perform routine instrument maintenance.
• Collaborate with scientists on assay qualification and cross-functional projects.
