Job summary

Whitsons Culinary Group in Illinois is seeking a Lead Food Service Worker to head meals, ensure nutrition and portion guidelines, and guide a busy kitchen team. Monday–Friday | No Nights, Weekends, or Holidays!

You will manage daily ordering, receiving, storage, and food safety, set up serving lines, and coordinate with classrooms and events. This full-time role offers a family-friendly schedule and growth opportunities in food service.

Qualifications

• Must complete all Whitsons and government-mandated training; food safety manager training preferred.
• 2–3 years of professional food service experience; lead/senior experience in school nutrition preferred.
• ServSafe certification required; local food safety certification required.
• Ability to direct a team and follow USDA NSLP/SBP requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and serving of meals meeting nutrition and portion guidelines.
• Manage daily ordering, receiving, and storage of food, beverages, and supplies.
• Organize cleaning duties and maintain food safety; set up serving lines and keep beverage areas stocked.
• Deliver meals to classrooms, staff, or events; oversee POS/cash handling and deposits.
