Job summary

Taher, Inc. is hiring a Head Cook to lead our school dining team in Lonsdale, MN. You will prepare meals from standardized recipes, supervise kitchen staff, and ensure quality, safety, and on-time service.

Qualifications

• 2 years experience in a school food service setting preferred.
• Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
• Able to follow supervisors direction and lead a small team.
• Strong communication skills with employees and clients.
• Able to follow spoken and written directions.
• Ability to prioritize, plan and use time efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Cooks and prepares a variety of food through standardized recipes.
• Ensuring all meals meet quality standards and are prepared within time limits.
• Monitors and directs food service staff and substitutes in preparation, set up and serving of meals.
• Prepares and cooks all menu items for regular and a la carte lines.
• Establishing monthly food and labor cost goals and controlling waste.
