Qualifications

• 2 years experience in a school food service setting preferred
• Ability to lead a small team and provide direction
• Strong communication skills with employees and clients
• Follow supervisors directions and priorities
• Lift 30 pounds and stand for long periods
• Criminal background check required

Responsibilities

• Cook and prepare a variety of food through standardized recipes
• Ensure meals meet quality standards and are prepared on time
• Direct food service staff and subs in meal prep, setup, and serving
• Prepare and cook menu items for regular and a la carte lines
• Lead a small staff and provide direction and training
• Monitor equipment temperatures and utilize leftovers per standards
• Manage ordering, receiving, storing and inventory control of perishables
• Reinforce USDA regulations
• Conduct cost control analysis and monitor product and menu costs
• Control waste and monitor cost and budget performance
• Establish monthly food and labor cost goals
• Promote nutrition education in school and community
• Use time management to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Perform other duties as requested
