Job summary

Children's Cottage of Wilmington is seeking a Lead Teacher to support School Age children. The role requires a high school diploma or GED with background checks, and a preference for applicants with an associate or bachelor’s degree.

Prior childcare experience is a plus. The position follows a Monday–Friday 2:30pm–5:30pm schedule with competitive pay and benefits, including paid trainings and an open-door policy.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare lesson plans in advance using current curriculum guides.
• Implement lesson plans weekly across child development areas and use the parent app for communication.
• Establish professional rapport with families to provide quality care.
• Ensure safety and well-being of each child and maintain a clean, organized classroom.
• Maintain child assessments and portfolios; conduct biannual parent/teacher conferences in November and May.
• Physical ability to work around small children and lift up to 40 lbs.

Children's Cottage of Wilmington is a licensed childcare center seeking Lead Teacher to support in the following age groups: School Age.

Required Shift: Monday - Friday, 2:30pm - 5:30pm

Compensation: $15-$19 hr; based on education and experience

MainJob Responsibilities:

• Prepare lesson plans that are developmentally appropriate one week in advance using current curriculum guides.
• Implement lesson plans/curriculum on a weekly basis covering all areas of child development and carry out lesson plans according to classroom schedule/daily routine; Use our parent communication app efficiently.
• Establish a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children.
• Responsible for the safety and well-being of each child, responding to their emotional needs; and maintaining an organized, clean, safe, and appropriately decorated classroom.
• Maintain a child assessment and portfolio for each child, as well as conduct biannual parent/teacher conferences during the month of November and May.
• Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.
• Carry out the daily responsibilities of the classroom relating to the care of the children.
