Job summary

Merestone is seeking an experienced Scene Shop Foreman to lead our fabrication team and oversee daily shop operations. This hands-on leadership role focuses on team supervision, project execution, and estimating project costs to keep builds on time and within budget.

You will work in a fast-paced production environment, collaborating with project managers, designers, and production teams to ensure accuracy, build feasibility, and high-quality results. Overtime may be required based on schedules.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in scenic fabrication, trade show, theatrical, or similar industry.
• 2+ years in a leadership or foreman role.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and design plans.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of carpenters, welders, and fabricators.
• Oversee daily shop operations to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Collaborate with project managers, designers, and production teams to execute builds.
• Review drawings and plans to ensure accuracy and build feasibility.
• Prepare project estimates, including labor, materials, and fabrication costs.
• Assist with budget planning and cost tracking throughout project lifecycle.
• Maintain and manage material inventory and procurement.
• Ensure all builds meet quality standards and client expectations.
• Enforce safety protocols and OSHA compliance.
• Track labor hours, materials, and project progress.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
