Job summary

Venture Metals + is seeking a Shipping and Receiving – Lead Scale Operator to join our operations team in Joliet, IL. The role focuses on operating weigh scales, scale software, and data entry for daily batch documentation. You will screen inbound loads, direct trucks, and assist with outgoing scales to ensure accurate ticket totals.

The position requires multitasking, reliable attendance, and basic computer skills. Experience in scrap metal recycling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate inbound/outbound scales and calculate ticket totals.
• Screen and record incoming loads at the scale house.
• Direct vehicles to loading/unloading areas.
• Maintain equipment and report malfunctions.
• Complete required documentation for vehicles and loads.
• Adhere to ISO procedures and work instructions.
• Perform daily housekeeping and safety checks.
• Assist with spotter duties as needed.
