Job summary

Venture Metals + is hiring a Shipping and Receiving Clerk - Lead Scale Operator in Joliet, IL. The role focuses on operating weigh scales, processing scale data, and directing inbound/outbound traffic at the facility.

Responsibilities include ensuring safety and accuracy of documentation, maintaining equipment, and providing reliable, punctual performance within a fast-paced environment. This is a full-time on-site position.

Qualifications

• Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency. Flexibility to meet the business needs.
• Must be able to learn quickly and multitask.
• Scrap Metal/Waste Recycle experience (preferred, but not required)

Responsibilities

• Operate weigh scales and related software; input data and record keeping for operations.
• Screen and record incoming loads at the scale house; direct vehicles entering/leaving the facility.
• Perform spotter duties and coordinate with office personnel to ensure accurate documentation of purchasing transactions.
• Direct weight materials inbound and outbound into appropriate process areas; compute ticket totals for payment.
• Maintain equipment, report malfunctions, and ensure safety and housekeeping standards.
• Support weightmaster responsibilities: weigh inbound/outbound trucks and complete required documentation.
