Job summary

WSP is seeking a Lead SCADA & Controls Engineer to join our Energy team. This role may be based in any U.S.

office and involves leading design, development, and implementation of SCADA, EMS, and control systems for utility-scale renewable energy and distributed energy projects. You will mentor junior engineers, coordinate with utilities and EPCs, ensure code and cybersecurity alignment, and travel to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical/controls-related field.
• 4+ years in SCADA, controls engineering, EMS, or related energy sectors.
• Experience with renewable energy projects (wind, solar, BESS, microgrids).
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols listed.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of SCADA and control systems for utility-scale projects.
• Develop narratives, sequences of operation, and design documentation.
• Create SCADA/EMS architectures and wiring diagrams.
• Support testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead cross-functional reviews.
