Job summary

The Mission Operations Development group at Northrop Grumman is seeking a Lead Mission Operations Engineer for our Gilbert, AZ campus. The role is full-time and requires SCI clearance, with occasional travel for rehearsals and launches.

You will lead on-orbit procedures, develop scripts, and support multiple satellite programs. You will collaborate with systems engineers, produce operational documentation, and contribute to mission readiness activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Top-Secret/SCI clearance required at time of application.
• Experience with spacecraft subsystems (ADCS/GNC, C&DH, comms, power, thermal).
• Experience writing technical documents for customers.
• Strong verbal and written communication, milestone presentations.
• Perl scripting experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide mission operations support to NGSS satellite programs.
• Lead on-orbit script and procedure development.
• Test on-orbit products using simulators and resolve discrepancies.
• Develop and test command procedures and telemetry pages.
• Modify operations procedures based on in-flight lessons.
• Support system development activities (requirements, architecture, I&T).
• Document on-orbit checkout procedures with systems engineers.
• Participate in mission readiness activities and rehearsals.
• Engage in on-orbit anomaly resolution activities.
• Provide status reporting to functional and program leadership.
