Job summary

Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector seeks a Mission Operations Development Engineer to support high-tempo satellite operations from a distributed team. You will assist with planning, testing, and executing on-orbit activities, including launch, early orbit, and sustainment tasks, including script testing and mission rehearsals.

Role requires full-time on-site work in Chantilly, VA, with 50% shift work and potential for SCI clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with professional experience or advanced degrees with corresponding experience.
• Requires an active Top-Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance at time of application.
• Experience with on-orbit satellite operations and mission simulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide mission operations support to classified Satellite programs.
• Work with systems engineers to test and integrate operational scripts for all satellite operation phases.
• Conduct testing using simulators and resolve discrepancies.
• Develop and test command procedures, telemetry pages, and other products from vendor docs.
• Support mission preparation, rehearsals, execution, and post-launch testing.
• Lead cross-functional satellite operations teams during real-time missions.
• Troubleshoot satellite, ground, and C2 software issues during operations.
• Manage configuration for space vehicle hardware and software.
