Job summary

Amazon LEO is seeking a Processing Lead Technician in Merritt Island, FL to supervise a team of technicians in mechanical assembly, testing and integration of satellite hardware for spaceflight.

You will mentor staff, uphold safety and quality standards, and coordinate with engineers to ensure timely production and launch readiness. Expect extended travel up to 25% annually and ability to obtain sensitive clearances as required.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent diploma.
• 4+ years of experience in mechanical hardware assembly, test, and/or installation.
• Able to obtain and maintain US Passport and meet entry requirements including immunizations.
• Able to pass Kennedy Space Center background checks.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of technicians as the subject matter expert on all processes within your area of responsibility.
• Mentor and coach team and experience delegating tasks to team.
• Champion safety requirements in all designated zones and work locations.
• Successfully lead process work and review for quality and adherence to standards and procedures.
• Independently execute and prioritize work to meet production schedules.
• Integration and test of the LEO satellite and various complex subassemblies in a cleanroom and ESD controlled environment.
• Operate forklift, pallet jacks, and other machines to move hardware.
• Use precision calibrated tools and read engineering drawings and documentation.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to develop and document activities.
