Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a senior technical professional to develop and optimize PHY, modem, and DSP algorithms for the TeraWave system. You will work across communications theory, DSP, system modeling, and modem performance analysis from algorithm development to implementation.

This hands-on role requires collaboration with ASIC, RF, firmware, and systems teams, with on-site work at Cupertino, CA; San Diego, CA; Kent, WA; or Austin, TX. US citizenship or eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in communications systems or DSP algorithm development.
• Strong skills in MATLAB, Python, and C/C++ for modems and DSP.
• Familiarity with OFDM-based systems and synchronization, estimation, and equalization.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize PHY, modem, and DSP algorithms for high-throughput satellite systems.
• Model and evaluate modem architectures and tradeoffs in end-to-end simulations.
• Collaborate with ASIC, RF, firmware, and system teams to implement and validate algorithms.
• Support pre-silicon verification, prototyping, and post-silicon validation of modem algorithms.
• Analyze end-to-end system performance and identify opportunities to improve throughput and reliability.
