Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a capable Cashier/Stocker to lead in the absence of store management and to assist in maintaining plan‑o‑grams and store programs. You will deliver exemplary customer service while protecting assets and supporting profitability.

Responsibilities include unloading trucks, stocking, merchandising, handling cash, and ensuring a clean, organized store environment. Staffing may involve opening/closing duties and cashier accountability.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, percentages).
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and cashier accountability.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety policies.
• Effective interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks according to store process.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock merchandise and rotate on shelves; build displays.
• Restock returned and recovered merchandise.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Greet customers on entry and maintain a clean front end.
