Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Cashier/Stocker who can lead in the absence of the Store Manager. You will assist in plan-o-gram maintenance, provide excellent customer service, and help maximize profitability and teamwork while protecting assets.

Responsibilities include unloading trucks, stocking shelves, operating the POS, and maintaining a clean, organized store environment. This role emphasizes customer focus and store safety.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety policies and practices.
• Effective interpersonal and oral & written communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock shelves.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock merchandise and build displays; rotate stock.
• Restock returned merchandise.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register and complete transactions.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety.
• Open and/or close the store per directions from the Area Manager.
