Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a capable Cashier/Stocker to lead in the absence of store management. You will manage plan-o-grams, assist customers, and help maximize profitability while protecting assets.

Responsibilities include unloading trucks, stocking merchandise, operating the register, and ensuring a clean, safe shopping environment. Prior supervisory experience is preferred; a high school diploma is required.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as additions, subtractions, percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposits.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices.
• Effective interpersonal and oral & written communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and follow prescribed receiving processes.
• Stock, rotate, face, and display merchandise; restock as needed.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise and maintain store cleanliness.
• Operate cash register; collect payment and make change; bag items.
• Greet customers and support in maintaining a safe, organized store environment.
• Assist in cashier accountability, security practices, and paperwork as required.
