Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Cashier/Stocker who will act as a lead in the absence of the Store Manager. The role includes stocking, merchandising, customer service, and supporting loss prevention and store operations.

Responsibilities include processing transactions, maintaining register accuracy, assisting customers, and helping to ensure a safe, clean, and organized shopping environment. Prior supervisory exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math including percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling and deposit procedures.
• Operating IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices.
• Effective interpersonal and oral & written communication skills.
• Understanding of plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise per store processes.
• Stock, rotate, and face shelves; build displays.
• Greet customers and assist in locating items.
• Maintain clean front end, restrooms, and stockroom.
• Operate cash register and collect payments.
• Open/close store under Area Manager direction.
