Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a reliable Cashier/Stocker to operate cash registers, stock shelves, and assist in daily store operations. In the absence of the Store Manager, you will lead the team, authorize refunds, and ensure adherence to security and cash control procedures.

You will greet customers, help locate items, and maintain a clean, organized store while protecting company assets and reducing losses. Retail experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations quickly and accurately.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit controls.
• Experience with IBM cash register operations.
• Understanding of store safety and loss-prevention practices.
• Good communication and customer service skills; teamwork oriented.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and process deliveries per store procedures.
• Receive, open, and unpack cartons and totes following guidelines.
• Stock, rotate, face merchandise and build displays.
• Restock returned or recovered merchandise and manage back stock.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Provide customer assistance in locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register, itemize purchases, bag items, and give correct change.
• Maintain clean front-end area and assist with displays outside on sidewalk.
• Ensure cashier accountability, cash controls, and security compliance.
