Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Store Cashier/Stocker to support daily operations, including stocking, merchandising, checkout, and customer assistance. In the absence of store leadership, you may lead the team and authorize refunds.

You will unload deliveries, stock displays, maintain cleanliness, and ensure accurate cash handling at the register while delivering friendly, efficient service to customers.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math calculations (addition, subtraction, percentages).
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposits.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.
• Familiarity with safety policies and store security practices.
• Ability to read plan‑o‑gram directions and merchandise presentation.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock shelves according to store processes.
• Receive, open, and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock, rotate, and face merchandise; build displays.
• Restock returned or recovered merchandise.
• Assist in plan‑o‑gram implementation and maintenance.
• Greet customers and assist them in locating items.
• Operate checkout, process payments, and bag purchases.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety.
• Provide exceptional customer service leadership.
