Job summary

Dollar General seeks a Lead Sales Associate to help maintain a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. You’ll assist customers, operate a cash register, stock merchandise, and support the Store Manager in daily operations.

You will lead by example in greeting customers, managing checkouts, stocking displays per planograms, and ensuring safety and efficiency in a fast-paced environment at our Onawa store. This role requires reliability and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read planograms and merchandising guides.
• Ability to perform basic math and handle cash transactions.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and cashier accountability.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and assist customers.
• Operate cash register, process payments, and bag merchandise.
• Stock, rotate, and display merchandise following planograms.
• Keep store clean and organized; handle trash and cleaning tasks.
• Open and close the store under direction of Store Manager.
• Perform duties in the absence of Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager.
