Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Lead Sales Associate to support a customer-first store environment. You will assist customers, operate the register, stock and display merchandise, and help maintain cleanliness throughout the store.

In the absence of the Store Manager, you will lead the team and carry out assigned duties to maximize store profitability and satisfaction. The role requires strong interpersonal skills, basic math, and safe handling of cash and merchandise.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandising guides.
• Ability to perform basic math and register transactions.
• Experience with cash handling and deposit control.
• Ability to drive own vehicle to the bank to deposit money.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total purchases; collect payments and give change.
• Stock merchandise and rotate displays; build and maintain planograms.
• Keep the store clean; manage trash, floors, restrooms and stockroom.
• Open and close the store as directed by the Store Manager.
• Perform duties in the absence of Store Manager/Assistant Store Manager.
