Job summary

Dollar General in Newark, OH is seeking a Lead Sales Associate to help maintain a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. You will assist customers in locating merchandise, operate the cash register, stock shelves, and support the Store Manager.

In this lead role you may act in a supervisory capacity in the Store Manager's absence, open and close the store, implement planograms, and help drive store profitability while protecting assets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Six months of supervisory experience or related training preferred.
• Ability to read and follow planograms.
• Strong customer service and cash handling skills.
• Ability to operate a cash register and provide correct change.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to total purchases, collect payment, bag merchandise.
• Stock merchandise, restock and rotate on shelves, build displays.
• Clean the store and assist with upkeep including trash, floors, restrooms, and stockroom.
• Open and close the store under Store Manager direction and assist in manager's absence.
• Perform additional duties typically performed by the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager in their absence.
• Drive to the bank to deposit cash when required.
