Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience: 5+ years in construction safety, preferably heavy civil.
• Licenses/certifications: OSHA 510, OSHA 500, CSHO, CHST preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and audit skills.
• Ability to conduct training and incident investigations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine walk-through inspections to ensure safety policy adherence.
• Identify hazards, document findings, and follow up to ensure abatement.
• Prepare safety reports for field supervision and management.
• Conduct new hire orientations and drug screening.
• Monitor subcontractor safety programs and propose improvements.
• Attend pre-planning and progress meetings to coordinate safety protocols.
• Lead toolbox talks and project safety committee meetings.
• Investigate incidents and determine root causes with corrective actions.
• Track injuries and ensure medical treatment and return-to-work processes.
• Assist with safety audits and training of personnel.
• Support insurance audits and safety initiatives.
