Job summary

HEI Civil is seeking a Safety Manager to join its growing Safety team. The role focuses on planning, implementing, and overseeing field safety programs across construction projects to ensure compliance with federal, state, and Owner requirements and company policy.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of construction safety experience, strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, and proven leadership. This on-site role emphasizes hazard abatement, safety reporting, and training across diverse projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction safety experience required, preferably heavy civil construction.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and risk management principles.
• Ability to lead, train, and coordinate safety initiatives with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site safety inspections to ensure compliance with laws and company policies.
• Lead hazard identification, abatement planning, and follow-up actions.
• Prepare safety reports and communicate findings to field management.
• Conduct new hire orientations and drug screening processes.
• Monitor subcontractor safety programs and suggest improvements.
• Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and incident investigations.
• Track injuries and progress, and support insurance audits.
