Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking a Software Engineer - Lead Robotics Generalist to design, develop, and test software for robotic systems across perception, control, autonomy, and system infrastructure. You will work in an Agile environment with cross-functional teams to deliver robust software for new products and enhancements.

Required are 8–12 years in Linux application software development, strong C++ skills, unit testing, and experience with Git.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, or Physics or equivalent combo of education, training and experience.
• 8–12 years of Linux application software development experience; OOD is required.
• Significant experience in C++; ability to discuss design tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Follow a defined software lifecycle development process.
• Participate in software and system design reviews with multidisciplinary teams.
• Write unit tests and debug code to high quality standards.
• Contribute to software design documentation per process guidance.
• Support CI/CD and process improvements in robotic software development.
