Job summary

Qualifications

Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology, Survey Technology or related field with three years of progression technician-level experience.
Ability to understand, interpret, and analyze contracts, plans, standards and specifications for highway projects.
Experience performing inspection, sampling and testing of materials to ensure compliance with specifications.
Strong communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to coordinate with engineers, contractors and the public.

Responsibilities

Lead project roadway/structure inspection to support engineers in highway construction administration.
Monitor contractor operations and review test reports to ensure conformity with plans, specs and contracts.
Perform contract administration tasks such as pay records, material receipts, payroll, haul tickets and monthly estimates.
Train and oversee junior technicians and contract inspectors as needed.
Coordinate with utilities and relocation efforts; resolve constructability issues to mitigate delays.
