Job summary
Vernon Health and Living in Wabash, IN, is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to join our pediatric and adult long-term care team. You will provide direct nursing care, lead the nursing team on your shift, and contribute to individualized resident care plans.
Requirements include an unrestricted RN license in Indiana, ADN or BSN, BLS/CPR certification, and experience in long-term or geriatric care. The role offers competitive pay, flexible scheduling, and a supportive, mission-driven work
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted RN license in Indiana.
- Graduate of an ADN or BSN nursing program.
- Current BLS/CPR certification.
- Long-term care or geriatric nursing experience preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Assess residents and develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
- Monitor residents for changes in condition and respond promptly
- Perform wound care, IV therapy, catheter care, and skilled procedures
- Supervise and delegate to LPNs and CNAs on your shift
- Communicate with residents, families, and attending physicians
- Document care accurately in the electronic health record
- Participate in care planning, MDS, and quality improvement activities
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, and facility standards
