Vernon Health and Living in Wabash, IN is seeking a highly organized Scheduler to manage staffing across skilled nursing or assisted living. You will build and publish daily schedules, fill open shifts, and handle real-time call-offs to ensure full coverage.

The role emphasizes collaboration with the DON and clinical staff, managing agency resources, and maintaining compliance with Indiana labor laws and CMS requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• Current CNA/QMA certification in Indiana.
• 1–2 years scheduling/administrative experience in healthcare.
• Familiar with nursing staffing ratios and long-term care scheduling.
• Experience with Apploi, Shift Admin, OnShift, or ShiftKey.
• Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, calm under pressure.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Respond to after-hours staffing emergencies on an on-call rotation.
• Reliable, punctual, able to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and publish nursing schedules for clinical staff across all shifts.
• Ensure minimum staffing ratios meet state and CMS requirements.
• Fill open shifts using internal staff, overtime, PRN pool, and agency resources.
• Manage real-time call-offs and confirm coverage quickly.
• Track schedule changes, swaps, overtime, and time-off requests.
• Coordinate with DON and clinical staff daily for coverage and gap resolution.
• Maintain PRN and agency backup pool lists.
• Monitor overtime exposure and flag potential overages.
