Job summary

Mercy Health seeks a Lead RN/Charge Nurse to coordinate patient care on a designated unit in collaboration with the Clinical Manager. The role uses nursing processes and clinical knowledge to foster an environment of excellence in care and patient satisfaction.

Responsibilities include adapting schedules, mentoring staff, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance, and promoting effective communication across departments to optimize patient experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Nursing (preferred).
• Current RN license in state they are working or covered by compact (required).
• BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to entering patient care setting).
• Certifications may be required based on the unit(s) overseen (PALS, ACLS, NRP, TNCC, ENPC, NBP certification options).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care on a designated unit in collaboration with the Clinical Manager.
• Use nursing process and clinical knowledge to coordinate health care team.
• Promote excellence in clinical practice and patient satisfaction.
• Adjust schedules and assignments based on acuity and resources.
• Mentor and support staff; act as a clinical resource and role model.
