Job summary

Mercy Health's Springfield Regional Medical Center is seeking a Clinical Unit Leader to oversee nursing care on a designated unit. The Lead RN/Charge Nurse coordinates patient care, collaborates with the Clinical Manager, and promotes clinical excellence and patient satisfaction while optimizing resources.

Responsibilities include staffing the unit, guiding staff, maintaining safety standards, and serving as a clinical resource and mentor to the team.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state they are working or covered by compact (required)
• BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire)
• Certifications required based on the unit(s) overseen (preferred)
• PALS/ACLS/NRP/TNCC/ENPC etc. (preferred)
• Nurse Executive Certification or designated specialty certification (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Coordinates patient care on a designated unit under clinical leadership.
• Guides staff, provides clinical support, and acts as unit lead in the absence of the unit leader.
• Ensures environmental safety standards and infection control compliance.
• Communicates with patients and families about nursing interventions and care plans.
• Rounds on patients to assess safety, quality, and experience.
• Acts as a resource and mentor for staff and may serve as a preceptor.
