Job summary

Mercy Health in Cincinnati, OH, seeks a Lead RN/Charge Nurse to coordinate patient care on a designated unit with the Clinical Manager. You will lead a care team, ensure efficient operations, and uphold clinical excellence to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.

The role requires current RN licensure, 2 years of nursing experience (including 1 year in the appropriate acuity), and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Nursing (preferred).
• Current RN license in state they are working or covered by compact.
• 2 years nursing experience with 1 year minimum clinical experience in the acuity level of desired area.
• PALS ACLS NRP TNCC ENPC certifications (preferred).
• NRP, CCRN or other specialty certification may be preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adjusts the schedule and patient assignments to accommodate changes in acuity and resources.
• Provides guidance of staff and oversees unit in the absence of the unit leader.
• Maintains knowledge of safety standards and infection control; uses supplies appropriately.
• Communicates treatment plans and nursing interventions with patients and families.
• Rounds to evaluate safety, quality, and patient experience.
• Serves as a resource to staff, patients, and families for effective communication.
• Acts as a clinical resource and potential preceptor for staff.
• Participates in quality monitoring and performance improvement activities.
