Job summary

Northstrat, a GRVTY company, seeks a Senior Reliability Engineer to own RF EW system reliability across qualification, production, and fielded operations. You will lead reliability modeling, FMECA, and FRACAS programs, shaping decisions that affect cost, schedule, and performance in harsh environments.

Hybrid role based in Sterling, VA with on-site lab and integration work. The ideal candidate has 8+ years in RF reliability, extensive FMEA/FRACAS, and strong data analysis skills.

Qualifications

• Must have an active Secret or higher clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of reliability engineering, RF/microwave experience preferred.
• Defense/aerospace or regulated high-reliability programs experience.
• Strong RF fundamentals and reliability methods (FMEA, RBD, fault tree).
• DOE/accelerated tests experience and MIL-STD-810 familiarity.
• 8D/fishbone/5-Why root-cause skills and FRACAS experience.
• Advanced data analysis skills (Excel, Python/MATLAB/Minitab).

Responsibilities

• Serve as reliability technical lead for fielded and in-production RF EW systems.
• Perform reliability predictions and modeling (MTBF/MTTF, RAM).
• Lead FMEA/FMECA and translate findings into production improvements.
• Plan qualification and reliability testing per MIL-STD-810 and specs.
• Conduct root-cause/failure analysis with lab characterization and FRACAS.
• Apply derating and thermal management analyses for high-power RF parts.
• Own component sustainment, obsolescence risk, and EEE parts control.
• Manage reliability data across lifecycle and build reliability growth models.
• Support Production Readiness and Test Readiness activities; document procedures.
• Mentor junior reliability engineers and mature the reliability process.
